Melvin, Hattie Leila - On Thursday, Nov. 4, 1971, Hattie Leila Rennick of Winchester in her 77th year, beloved wife of Hart Melvin and dear mother of Mrs. Gordon Elliott (Eileen), Ottawa, Mrs. Hugh Slater (Jean) and Mrs. Robert Vice (Betty), both of Winchester; David R. Melvin, Mississauga. Predeceased by daughter Eleanor. Resting at Vice and Craig Ltd. Funeral Home, Church Street, Winchester, where service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 6 at 2 p.m. Interment Maple Ridge Cemetery. 10

Mrs. Hart Melvin
Mrs. Hart Melvin, the former Hattie Leila Rennick, died Thursday, November 4th, following a brief illness.

A life-long resident of the area the late Mrs. Melvin was in her 77th year.

A daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rennick she married Hart Melvin at Winchester on January 23rd, 1912.

A devoted member of the United Church she was also a member of the Eastern Star.

Besides her husband she is survived by three daughters and one son: Mrs. Gordon Elliott (Eileen), Ottawa; Mrs. Hugh Slater (Jean); and Mrs. Robert Vice (Betty); both of Winchester and David R. Melvin of Mississauga, Ontario.

Two brothers and three sisters also survive; Orla, William, Ethel Marshall, Bessie Rennick and Etta Preston.

One daughter, Eleanore and one brother, Earl predeceased her.

Funeral service at Vice and Craig Funeral Home was conducted by Rev. A. MacDonald at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 6th.

Pall bearers were Wm. Sherwood, George Elliott, Ralph MacPherson, Ron Wrkman, Lloyd Dixon and Melvin Scott.

Interment was a Maple Ridge Cemetery. 15
