Orma Catherine Melvin nee MacMillan Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother and family matriarch passed away at her home on Friday July 30th after a brief illness with cancer. She is survived by her sister Margaret Ward (London). Children: daughter Lindsay (Ingo) Leinen; son Hart (Sherab) Melvin; daughter JoAnn (Peter) Beaupre; son Carl Melvin. Orma is survived by nine grandchildren: Stephanie (Carl Larocque) LeMay, Matthew (Jenny) LeMay; Sean Melvin, Tinley Melvin, Robbi Melvin; David (Rhonda) Beaupre, Andrew (Melanie) Beaupre, Joseph Beaupre, John-Paul Beaupre. Great grandchildren: Sydney Larocque, Cole Larocque, Ella LeMay, Noa LeMay, Lucas Beaupre, Danny Beaupre, Lila Beaupre, Anna Beaupre, Jamie Beaupre. Orma is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Alexander and Joanna MacMillan and husband David Melvin. A memorial gathering will take place at a later date. The children of Orma would like to express their gratitude and thanks to all the professionals and friends who assisted us in fulfilling her wishes to spend her final days in her home. John T. • A wedding announcement was published in Winchester Press on 26 Dec 1946 in Winchester, Dundas, Ontario, Canada. 13 It read as follows:

A Wedding of local interest took place at 3 o'clock on Saturday afternoon last, at the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority of the University of Western Ontario, London, when Miss Orma C. MacMillan, elder daughter of Mrs. A. H. MacMillan and the late Mr. MacMillan, of London, Ont., became the bride of Mr. David Rennick Melvin son of Mr. and Mrs. Hart Melvin of Winchester.

The ceremony was performed by Rev. J . C. Davies, Presbyterian Minister of Glenco, Ont.

Given in marriage by her cousin, Mr. Neil Munro, of Glenco, the bride was attended, by Miss Eleanor Melvin, of Toronto, sister of the groom. Mr. Jack Paterson, of Ottawa, was best man.

During the signing of the register, Miss Nancy Outerbridge, of Toronto, sang "Because."

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Glen Allen,Inn, near London. The bride and groom were assisted in receiving the 33 by Mrs. M. Taylor, of London, aunt of the bride.

Later, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin boarded a plane for Montreal, from where they motored to Alpine Inn, St. Marguerite, Que., to spend their honeymoon. On their return they will reside in Winchester.

The bride is a member of Winchester High School Teaching Staff.

Out-of-town guests: at the wedding included: Mr. and Mrs. Hart Melvin, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Slater and Mr. Remi Lalonde, of Winchester; Miss Madelaine Chevalier and Mr. Jack Paterson, of Ottawa, was Mr. Jack Paterson, of Ottawa; Miss Eloise Allen, Miss Nancy Ouderbridge, Miss Eleanor Melvin, Mr. C. W. Kirkpatrick and Mrs. Janet Warwick, all of Toronto.
